From access to retrieval: understanding the full device pathway.
A procedure-led overview of endourology device functions: visualization, access, navigation, fragmentation interfaces and stone retrieval.
Endoscopic stone treatment involves multiple procedural decisions and device interfaces. Visualization provides anatomical orientation. Guidewires and access systems establish routes for instruments. Laser-based fragmentation requires a compatible delivery interface and appropriate fluid management. Baskets or other methods may be used for selected fragment retrieval; drainage devices may be indicated after treatment.
Product evaluation is therefore most useful when the complete workflow is considered. TORSH approaches stone-management technology by connecting real clinical tasks to the device characteristics that influence those tasks—while keeping performance claims separate from technical design intentions.
